What has happened to sportsmanship in Men’s NCAA Football? #sports #ncaaf #collegefootball

I am aghast at what happened to the Iowa band at the hands of Iowa State ‘fans’.  Add that to the stories of Texas manipulating the A/C in the visitor locker room or making an opposing band sit in the upper deck. 

This is a game played by kids and it is supposed to be about making memories and sportsmanship. 

I find the NCAA’s silence on this matter unsettling.

Incidents like this just make me sick and wonder is it simply greed or alcohol use or the darkness that is seeping into society in general from above that is causing this to happen?

USC Football kicks off the 2018-19 season against UNLV at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on September 1st, 2018.

Talk about the vote of confidence.  USC loses one game and the AD or whoever that talking head is now says (paraphrasing) ‘Helton is the coach for now’. 

Wow, don’t buy any property in LA, buddy. Me thinks a couple more losses and the door hits you in the butt.

Drama unfolding in Knoxville… #collegefootball #ncaaf #sports

There is a drama unfolding in College Football and it is centered in Knoxville. 

I watched Tennessee actually play BYU pretty well for almost the whole game.  That they dropped their second in a row kinda makes one scratch their head. 

If somehow Tennessee loses a third in a row, there will be people marching with burning torches and demanding change. 

This is certainly not entertaining for Vol fans but it’s pretty good tv to the rest of us.

If I was Michigan, I’d hold off celebrating… #collegefootball #Wolverines #ncaaf

If I was the University of Michigan I would hold off razing flags and hooraying after the slim 2OT win over a very tough Army team. 

Army should see this as a victory – they gave their all and their all nearly won it.  Army could be a tough out for every team they play. 

Michigan may be a not so hard to beat ‘CFP Hopeful’.

Solid game by most big teams *waves at Tennessee* so college football pretty much was as it is supposed to be.  Personally really enjoyed Bethune Cookman’s comeback.  That was great football.

The Argos collapse against the TiCats in the Labour Day Classic was sad but not surprising to see.  They played a great 30 minutes, then forgot to come out of the locker room

What did cause my head to shake was the assertion during the Louisville/ND game that the NCAA replay (eye in the sky) only does replays using full speed tape, no slo mo.  If that is true, then throw out the replay since it is just a waste of time.

College Football started in Earnest on Thursday. Who knew they played in Earnest and what school is the main football power there?

What I am very interested in is seeing if any lesser teams can take down a big one this week.  The Arkansas game sounds good.  I also hope South Alabama can be heard from this week.

For many glorious years, I have been thrilled to see ACC sports, specifically a great football game every Saturday.  With ESPN taking over and making the ACC Network, I am not certain I will have the opportunity to watch one ACC football game on tv a week for free anymore and that kind of makes me sad.

I haven’t followed the NFL since December 2017 but in the 32 years previous, when I did, I had never seen so pure a draft bust as Andrew Luck. He just cemented that rep with his whiny retirement.

Andrew Harris getting suspended by the CFL is extremely disappointing and I hope but can’t put faith in the ‘contaminated sample’ reason.

Way to Go Rory, great win! You beat the Diva and that is worth $30 to me.

Congrats to Viktor Hovland on landing a tour card at Korn Ferry, I think he will be a huge success on the PGA in 2020.

Watching Florida vs Miami gives a couple of quick thoughts – Florida stinks and will not challenge Bama, Auburn, Georgia or LSU. So enough with the #8 crap. Miami isn’t good enough to tie Clemson’s cleats.

This was going to be a good game before the Miami choice for starting QB happened.  Now the game has added layers. 

Can Tate Martell lead them to victory or will he be looking over his shoulder the whole time? 

Is this a long leash or will a bad quarter lead to a change? 

That is the story within the game.  Can’t wait!

Dabo isn’t wrong on not giving Bryant a ring.  I’m not sure how it has become the standard to give a ring to every person who opened a door at a facility sometime during a championship year.  I personally think baseball is to blame for this move as now there is often rings handed out to people who were traded in April of a year.  

There has been much talk about who is playing or not playing in the World Basketball thing going on now.  I wonder if even 1% of NBA fans either know about the tournament or if they care?
